commissions:
‘Together’ Sculpture For Chelsea Flower Show.

Over 280 metres of steam bent Oak twisted, turned, spiralled, sprung and draped over celebrated garden designer Andy Sturgeon’s Cancer Research Garden at the 2007 Chelsea Flower Show.

We were commissioned to create a sculpture to link every individual aspect of the garden together, which included formal yew hedges, white limestone paths, informal ‘wild meadow’ planting, several trees and large steel framed Japanese pergola. It worked so well that the sculpture became known as the ‘Together’ sculpture at the show, and the garden won a Gold Medal!

It was the biggest and most insane project we had tried to-date, and we had to develop several new ways of working to make it possible, including some new modelling and tool making techniques, and a unique flexible double lamination method (uses no glue!) We also had to get used to collaborating with another designer to realise their dream, which was strangely just as rewarding as doing our own work.
